Karoll Capital Management starts the distribution of the mutual funds of its partner, Schroders (Schroder Investment Management) in the Romanian market. Following the notification of the Bulgarian Financial Supervision Commission and the regulators in Bucharest and Luxembourg, the management company begins to operate on the territory of Romania based on the freedom to provide services under UCITS IV directive.
The registration of the first Luxembourg-domiciled funds of the British asset manager in Romania has now been completed. Karoll Capital will initially focus its efforts on presenting to the Romanian institutional investors the variety of investment opportunities these global funds offer - over 100 strategies in different asset classes, regions, themes and sectors. Institutional investors in Romania, such as pension funds, insurance companies, SIFs, etc., have been developing dynamically in recent years in terms of asset growth and portfolio diversification.
"Schroders' investment strategies combine a 200-year history of a global leader in asset management with the most innovative portfolio management approaches, and as such we believe they are very suitable for professional investors in Romania," states Daniel Ganev, CEO of Karoll Capital Management.
Since the launch of the partnership between Karoll and Schroders in 2012, the funds raised in Bulgaria exceed BGN 270 million (EUR 135 million) from all types of investors – individuals, firms, foundations, universities, pension funds, etc. In addition to the big institutional investors, Karoll Capital and Schroders also plan to make the funds available to Romanian households, whose savings - like those in Bulgaria - are also mainly held in bank deposits and real estate.
