Karoll Knowledge Foundation will support Bulgarian science

The official start of Karoll Knowledge Foundation was announced by Mr. Stanimir Karolev, founder and chairman of the Managing Board. The newest organization, part of the Karoll Group began working 25 years after the launch of the first company. The Foundation has a clear mission and purpose - supporting Bulgarian scientific projects and talented young scientists.

Karol Knowledge Foundation started its activity with awarding of the annual doctoral scholarship in the amount of 8000 leva. The first winner was Dragomira Stoyanova, full-time PhD student at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Faculty of Biology, Department of General and Industrial Microbiology, Bioanotechnology". The topic of her scientific work is "Antimicrobial activity of nanostructural materials". Dragomira has 11 publications on the subject, 9 participations in national and international conferences in the field of nanotechnology and four awards, two of which are financial grants for participation in forums.


Dragomira Stoyanova was selected with a contest by Karoll's jury, which in tehe last five years has distinguished young Bulgarian scientists with a significant contribution to their field. Karoll University's doctoral program will be continued and upgraded by the Karoll Knowledge Foundation.

The current holders of the scholarship of the Karoll Finance Group are from Sofia University, Kliment Ohridski, UACEG, Technical University of Sofia and Medical University - Sofia.
